trace curve

 Creates a trace curve
 Necessary Objects:
  • slider
  • point, that depends on a slider
    or

 Created Object:
  • trace curve

Sliders are points, which are movable along objects (line1, circle or graph of a function). This movement can be automatized, e.g. in animations ( Start Animation).

It is possible to calculate numerically the possible positions of given points that depend on sliders, as the carrier object of the slider is known. The  trace curve hence is the set of all trace points of a point that depends on a slider.

As this procedure uses numerical calculations, it might be the case that only an approximate curve is displayed.

If a slider iss moved, the point depending on it moves on its trace curve. If however the position of the slider's carrier object is changed, a new trace curve will be calculated and displayed. If a slow computer is used this might result in a non smooth movement.
